Hello! My name is Catarina, nice to meet you!
I was born near Lisbon, in Portugal, but I'm currently living in the interior of Portugal. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Musicology, and I am currently finishing my Master's dissertation in Anthropology.
My current job is teaching music to kids, from 5 to 13 years old, in public schools. And I've been privately teaching Portuguese and English for almost 2 years.
Since I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated with people… how they communicate, interact, dance, create art, play music, and so much more. So of course, language is something that has always appealed to me. It is a core part of being human and a means for me to communicate to a diverse range of people, from all over the world. Having the opportunity to teach my native language and to be surrounded by students who can share their experiences and passions with me, is truly inspiring.

Besides Portuguese, I speak English and Spanish, and at the moment, I am learning Scottish Gaelic, so I can relate to the difficulties and delights that learning a new language can bring. Therefore, I believe that we can create a non-stressful and fun environment together, where you can achieve your goals and, in the meantime, have an enjoyable time.
It’s very important that in the beginning, you share with me your personal goals, motivations, interests and your level, as my teaching approach will depend on the students needs and expectations. Relying on this, you can foresee interactive exercises with the use of books, music, short films and so much more.
