I'm Gustavo, a Brazilian designer and self-taught English speaker based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. My background is in Industrial Design, with years of experience in UX/UI design, a field that trained me to think clearly, communicate visually, and always keep people at the center of everything I do.
I learned English entirely on my own, through movies, TV shows, music, books, and real conversations with people from around the world. No formal courses, no language school, just genuine curiosity and a lot of consistency. That journey gave me something beyond fluency: a real understanding of what it feels like to learn a language from scratch, navigate the confusion, and eventually find your confidence.
Teaching Portuguese emerged naturally from that experience. I know firsthand how challenging and rewarding it is to absorb a new language, and I bring that empathy into every lesson. My approach is practical, relaxed, and built around real communication — the kind you actually need to connect with people, explore Brazilian culture, and feel at home in the language.
When I'm not designing or teaching, I'm probably watching something, listening to music, or finding new ways to stay curious, which, as it turns out, is also the best advice I can give any language learner.

My Portuguese lessons are built on something I learned the hard way, teaching yourself a language is possible, but having the right guidance makes all the difference. I became fluent in English entirely on my own, through movies, TV shows, music, books, and real conversations with people around the world. That experience gave me a deep understanding of what the learning process actually feels like from the inside: the confusion, the breakthroughs, and everything in between. I bring that same awareness to every lesson. My approach focuses on real communication over memorized rules, natural conversation over rigid grammar drills, and building the confidence to actually use the language, not just study it.
