My name is Mike and I have been an ESL teacher for five years. Before becoming an ESL teacher, I was a Chef De Cuisine. Surprisingly, I took a good portion of the knowledge that I gained while working in a kitchen to the classroom. Being alert and putting forth your best effort was something I learned while being a chef. This has helped me immensely as an ESL teacher. Learning to understand how someone learns best takes alertness and also patience. This is something that every teacher must learn how to do properly. With that said, I consider myself to be someone that enjoys fishing, cooking, learning, and being around friends. I am as extroverted as someone can be. I can be your teacher, but I can also be your friend.

Since I am CELTA certified, I rely on the methods I was taught when I earned my certificate through this course. Lesson planning and creating a lesson that caters to the best of my students learning abilities is what I strive for. Being personable as a teacher is very important because it lets you connect with your students on a deeper level which in turn makes for a smoother and more productive lesson. I teach A1 beginner level English all the way to C2 advanced English. I also have a certificate to teach Business English as well.
