We will work with the PPP-approach, from Presentation (explanation, introducing a specific subject), to Practice (practicing in a controlled environment) to Production (starting to use the language independently), in 3 dimensions:
1. Communicative Language Teaching (CLT): This is currently the most widely used method. The goal is for students to learn to communicate in everyday situations. Grammar is a tool, not an end in itself.
2. Task-Based Learning (TBL): The student receives a task (for example, "Book a hotel room by phone"). As they complete the task, they discover what they don't know yet, and I will correct and explain it.
3. And preferably (optional): The Direct Method: In this method, only English is spoken in class. Translation into Portugese is prohibited. This forces the student to think in English.
