I have been teaching EU-Portuguese for 5 months now and currently have two amazing students! My lessons are highly adapted to their specific needs, so they look quite different. My main focus is always to ensure progress and motivation, which means selecting enjoyable materials and productive exercises, and finding a balance between work and fun. That looks different with everyone, so adaptation and openness are always on :)
I like to maintain a frequent feedback regime with my students, so that I can make sure their motivation is healthy and that the materials we're using are the right fit.
I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and hearing about my student's interests, so this is a friendly exchange!

Olá! I'm Joana, 26, and I'm a native speaker of European Portuguese. I grew up in Portugal and have always loved languages, so I'm always excited to share my knowledge on this beautiful language!
I have a broad background in Literature, Biology/Ecology and Fine-Arts - a funky combination, I know, but that's what makes it fun! Right now, I'm a freelance EU-Portuguese teacher, giving lessons that are highly adapted to each student's needs and goals, through an organic and communicative approach. This means:
- A personalized programme that fits your specific objectives with the language, from informal speaking to professional use
- Flexible scheduling
- Constant communication to keep the lessons fun and enjoyable
- Use of different resources, adapted to your needs
- Lesson-only or additional tailored exercises to do on your own
My lessons tend to attract students that want to improve their conversational skills and writing/reading, with basic to good knowledge on grammar. So far I'm teaching levels A1-A2, but very open to more advanced levels!
