My name's João, I'm a law student in Rio de Janeiro, I'm nineteen and I really believe in a different kind of learning, integrating different areas of knowledge in a relaxed but efficient way. In my opinion, nothing's better than to learn with a native speaker, of course that's not everything, but Portuguese always been a huge part of my life (not just because I use it to speak 24/7) as I am a communicative person. My interests in literature, music, and law always brought that to me, that need to understand and to be understood clearly, which is exactly what I'll try to bring to class!

First of all, the whole class program is developed based on the student interests and aproach. Learning a language can be an extremely different experience depending on your intention to use it, a tourist, a businessman, a musician, each one deserves to learn what will be more useful and enriching to their experience. Past that stage, the class deals with speaking, reading and listening practices, first with a brief explanation, followed by some examples (music, videos, movies, etc) , then exercises to practice what has been learned. As a beginner teacher, I like to talk about Brazilian culture and popular topics (like comedy, entertainment, traveling and other interests of mine like music, and soccer, yes of course the Brazilian guy likes soccer) to develop a meaningful and useful learning. I believe I can teach to anyone, since a starter class for someone completely non-speaker aproaching the basics, to a complex class entirely in portuguese talking about more linguistic details like different accents and formality levels of talking and writing!
